Edwards, Colorado is a great mountain community with a strong year-round population and small-town vibes. Riverwalk at Edwards
Edwards is centered around Riverwalk, a modern shopping and dining district located along the Eagle River. Here, you’ll find dozens of restaurants and cafes, shops and boutiques, gyms, a movie theater, the Alpine Arts Center, grocers, and event venues.
Riverwalk is a great place to start when getting to know the town of Edwards.
Edwards is prime for year-round outdoor access. For skiing and snowboarding, Beaver Creek Resort and Vail Mountain Resort are within 12 and 20 minute drives, respectively. The area also has miles of cross-country ski trails and snowshoeing areas. Fly-fishing is unbeatable in this area, with the Eagle River running through town. Other nearby fly-fishing destinations include the Colorado River, Gore Creek, Roaring Fork River, and high country streams and lakes. Summer brings hiking, trail running, mountain biking, and cycling. Paved multi-use paths connect the entire Vail Valley — even to the top of Vail Pass.
For those who hit the links, Edwards offers many golf courses in the immediate area. Within 10 miles of Edwards, you’ll find these courses (a mix of public and private). The Club at Cordillera offers four distinct courses: Valley, Mountain, Summit, and Short Courses. These were designed by Jack Nicklaus, Tom Fazio, and Hale Irwin. The Sonnenalp Club offers private golfing with spectacular views. Country Club of the Rockies also offers a private Jack Nicklaus Signature design golf course. Eagle Springs is a private golf club located in Wolcott. Beaver Creek Golf Club is a public course located along Beaver Creek Mountain with stunning views. Red Sky Ranch offers two championship courses: Fazio Course and Norman Course. The EagleVail Golf Club is public and offers great passholder and multi-round benefits.
For those with school-age children, Edwards offers a mix of public and private education. Some of the schools include Eagle County Charter Academy (K-8), Edwards Elementary (PK-5), June Creek Elementary (PK-5), Avon Elementary (PK-5), Berry Creek Middle School (6-8), Battle Mountain High School (9-12), Vail Mountain School (K-12), and St Clare of Assisi Catholic School (K-8).
Arrowhead — Arrowhead at Vail is located one mile from Beaver Creek and has a ski lift for mountain access. Other community amenities include swimming pool, tennis courts, hiking paths, fishing access, and more.
Cordillera & Cordillera Valley Club — The Club at Cordillera offers everything from luxurious private homes to undeveloped land. Some of the gated community’s amenities include four golf courses, three restaurants, and cross-country ski / snowshoe trails.
Homestead — Homestead is a planned community spanning the hillside on the south side of Edwards. Homestead offers a great mix of home types with approximately 800 residences in total among three subdivisions:
- Lower Homestead (homes, townhomes, soccer fields, playground, dog park)
- Middle Homestead (homes, condos, townhomes, Court Club, pond)
- Upper Homestead (private homes with stunning views)
The Court Club is a recreation center with pool, gym, tennis / racquet courts, fitness classes (personal training and group fitness, and more).
Lake Creek — The Lake Creek area is also in the Homestead area of Edwards. The homes in this area are mostly large private properties with ranch-size home sites.
Singletree — North of Edwards, Singletree is a family-oriented neighborhood with single-family homes and duplexes. Residents love the short streets and cul-de-sacs. Amenities include a main park with sports fields and playground; a handful of small “pocket” parks nestled throughout; four hiking trails accessing great views; and a Community Center with workout rooms and classes.
