Engel & Völkers Vail is pleased to announce that, in the fall of 2017, the demand for luxury real estate in the Vail Valley is at an all-time high. To meet this remarkable demand, our team continues to seek the best Vail homes for our clients. As new people from all over the world discover the joy of owning a home in the Vail Valley, we enjoy working with you to ensure that you find the perfect Vail property.
Increased Real Estate Sales throughout the Vail Valley
“Vail is more than just a skiing destination,” said Josh Lautenberg, Engel & Völkers Vail’s Managing Broker. “More and more people are realizing that the Vail Valley has become a premier year round destination. Owning a home in the Vail Valley allows you to live in a Rocky Mountain paradise. I’m not surprised that Vail real estate is more desirable than ever.”
According to a recent report from the Vail Board of Realtors, from August 2016 to July 2017, 411 homes have sold for over $1 million. This marks a 20% increase compared with the same span of time the previous year. Even more staggering, total sales exceeded $1 billion during this period, up 30% compared to the same period a year before.
Much of this increase can be attributed to an increased number of homes closing for over $5 million. During the first half of 2017, sales of properties priced at $5 million or more jumped from 9 transactions in 2016 to 24 in 2017.
The Vail Valley has a great variety of real estate. From ski condos to expansive ranches, every property gives you the opportunity to enjoy a special slice of Colorado. The luxury market, therefore, is just a part of the picture. In 2017, there’s also been significant growth in sales of single-family homes and duplexes. And the markets in both Eagle and Gypsum are very strong.
